Preliminary Itinerary
Months have passed, and it's a new year... Happy 2009 Everyone!
We're now 20 days away from my departure date, which is very scary; I feel so unprepared. Where did the time go? Thankfully, I have all hotel, train and plane reservations handled, which is quite a bit of relief.
Here's the preliminary itinerary:
February 23rd:
Fly out of LAX at 8:55 PM with Virgin Atlantic
February 24th:
Arrive in London at 3:20 PM
Fly out of LHR at 9:15 PM
February 25th:
Arrive in Mumbai at 11:40 AM
The plan is to head over to the Taj Mahal Palace & Tower in Mumbai, which is also where the wedding will be held, to freshen up and hit the town for a bit of light sightseeing or shopping. Needless to say that after almost 2 days of traveling, everyone will be exhausted.
March 2nd:
Leave Mumbai at 5:55 AM with IndiGo Air and arrive in Jaipur at 7:35 AM.
Head over to the hotel - I originally wanted to stay in a Heritage hotel but wasn't lucky enough to find one in my budget that still had availability. Instead, we opted for a quaint "homestay" at Girisadan that had great reviews on TripAdvisor.
March 4th:
Leave Jaipur at 6:10 AM by train and arrive in Agra at 10:50 AM.
The Oberoi Amarvillas, where we're staying, is an absolutely gorgeous hotel and prides itself on having breathtaking views of the Taj Mahal from every single one of its rooms. I'm definitely looking forward to spending an evening on the balcony with friends watching the sunset.
March 6th:
Leave Agra at 4:45 AM by train and arrive in Delhi at 8:00 AM.
The hotel we finally settled on is the InterContinental Nehru Place, which apparently is well situated and quite nice.
March 8th:
Time to leave India and head back home, but first a quick 2-day stop in London so that Val can get a quick taste of England.
March 11th:
City of Angels, we're finally home!
